Silvertip Hole #8 -- 555yd Par5 Handicap 4
Silvertip:
The 8th, which offers risk/reward and strategic playability, also features an elevated green, one of the most difficult on the course. Silvertip is the home course of PGA Tour member and 2006 Players Champion Stephen Ames. "Everytime I play this course, it's a different experience. At various time of the day, different views reveal themselves. Different times of year present their own challenges. And there's always another deer to admire." - Stephen Ames
Morning/Lunch Dining in Canmore:
VILLAGE BISTRO:
This gem, which can be found just off Main Street in downtown Canmore, is one of the Bow Valley's best kept secrets. The bistro serves up filling cafeteria-style dishes that are fresh, tasty and startlingly inexpensive. Their menu has a decidedly French slant with items like quiches, Croque Monsiers and Madame's and creamy soups. The sandwiches are a big draw with fillings like curried chicken and pineapple and capicolli ham with artichoke. On sunny days take a seat on the patio and watch the hikers on Mount Rundle. Cash only.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN BAGEL CO:
This is one of the busiest stops along Canmore's Main Street. This bright and spacious cafe serves up fresh bagels in about a zillion ways. There are breakfast bagels, bagel-wiches, pizza bagels and a selection a cream cheese, spreads, soups, and salads. The coffee is hot and fresh. While you munch and sip, peruse the small bookstore on the side or check up on your electronic goings-on at the internet terminal.

Several things: late blog, apologies (mother's day)...Second, remember when we played the Quarry and it was overcast and all the green was a pure crisp green set against the hazy background? I love golfing in early mornings or when it is just perfectly overcast but not rainy. You can kinda notice what I'm mentioning in the two pics above. Thoughts?
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures there for sure... Dew on the grass where you can see the path of the people's putts who have played before you. How I long for days like that...
ReplyDeleteYea too bad we only have one round starting before noon. Banff Springs it is. 8:00am!
