May 9th: Silvertip Hole #7

Silvertip Hole #7 -- 351yd Par4 Handicap 12

Silvertip:

The slogan reads, "Where Nature Plays Through," suggesting there may very well be more than just golf in store at the Silvertip Golf Resort. Like many mountain golf courses, the layout was carved from the forest and if you don't seem some wildlife, spectacular scenery will instead grab your attention. Silvertip overlooks the Bow Valley corridor, located deep in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. This is a course that you will remember long after the round is over.

Wildlife Corridor:
Much of the area to the North-East of Canmore is located in a critical wildlife corridor. This corridor allows animals such as bears, cougar, wolves, and elk to move between habitat patches. These are places where they can find food, escape predators, breed, and establish territories. A series of hiking and walking paths traverse this area, known as the Benchlands. (If you recall, on May 5th, I referred to Silvertip's location on the Benchlands above the town of Canmore.)

  1. Great Anchorman reference, I wonder if Brick golfs? He would make a great addition to round out the foursome if kiwon can't make it. Never know when we'll need someone to kill a man with a Trident
