Mt. Kidd @ Kananaskis Country Golf Course Hole #3 437-yd Par4 Handicap 3
You want to be aiming to the right side of this fairway in order to avoid the sand traps, trees and steep fall off on the left side of this scenic golf hole. With mounding in front of this well-contoured green, getting it close to the pin can be difficult on your approach shot.
Kananaskis Country GC:
In the heart of the Canadian Rockies, less than an hour's drive from either Calgary or Banff, visitors find a golfing paradise. The rugged surrounding peaks tower a full 10,000 feet (3,000 metres) above sea level, the courses themselves are almost 5,000 feet (1,500 metres), forming an unforgettable background, the cascading Kananaskis River a constant and pleasant companion.
Things to Do:
NIHAHI RIDGE -- Nihahi means rocky or "steep cliff mountain" in Stoney Indian. The trail takes you up a rocky ridge to a beautiful view of the Little Elbow River Valley. This hike gives you the most bang for your buck. It is relatively easy and scenic (not recommended for young children) and in a fairly short amount of time, you get premium views. You will need a fair level of fitness, as the hike is 9.5 km round trip with some steep sections. You can do it in runners, though I wouldn't recommend it as the trial is quite rocky with some tricky maneuvering in some spots.
Course seems relatively meh compared to the others but I love the massive fairways. Looks like this may be a nice scoring course compared to the others.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been wowed by it in the first three holes...Surprising considering I thought this one would and Banff wouldn't. But I think it should be well maintained, relatively flat, and hopefully give me a chance to launch some errant drives and still have golf balls following the round.
