Mt. Kidd @ Kananaskis Country Golf Course Hole #5 339-yd Par4 Handicap 13
If you are a long hitter, GO FOR IT! For the rest of us, an ideal tee shot is aimed at the far fairway bunker. Your approach shot to this well-bunkered green demands much more precision than it does distance.
(I just realized the narrative on the flyover is exactly what they have written on the hole drawing page...took me 5holes to realize this as I rarely have my sound on, but it'll be nice to have the words down for when we use this as our guide on the course!)
Kananaskis Country GC:
"We only got in 12 holes, huge thunder storm with lightning chased us away. We played Mt. Lorette earlier in the day. I enjoyed Mt. Kidd more, a little less water involved. Both courses naturally are beautiful. In my experience, most golfers are going to shoot a better score on Mt. Kidd. Also, perhaps feel a little better about themselves as a golfer when finished. Club house, dining area beautiful!"
Back over in Canmore (previously discussed):
Along with its near-legendary weekday happy hour (Mon-Fri 4pm-7pm), The Drake wins big kudos for booking live entertainment every weekend (from bands to hypnotists) and for having a friendly, fun atmosphere. Its status as a local favorite is bolstered by numerous "Best Pub" awards, bestowed by publications such as Skier Magazine and the Pub Lovers Guide. This is a fine pub, with all the accoutrements: 18 draft beers, 2 heated patios, 14 satellite TVs, and awesome pub grub. Owner Stan Walker, a former high school principal, has fashioned a winner!
I think we'll be checking that one out...!
